17 Prosthetic Helping Hands in 2025

In today’s world, the impact of landmines and the challenges faced by individuals with limb differences cannot be overstated. With over 100 million active landmines in 60 countries, the consequences are dire: more than 300,000 individuals live with landmine-related amputations. Additionally, many are born without a hand, or experience limb loss due to accidents. These statistics underscore the urgent need for community support in addressing these challenges.

In 2025, Statewide Oil took a step toward making a difference through the Helping Hands Program. Our teams in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney participated in a series of training sessions and collaborative efforts, resulting in the donation of 17 prosthetic hands, which will be delivered to people in need all over the world.

The Helping Hands Program: A Collaborative Effort

The Helping Hands Program was designed as a community-driven initiative. These sessions were not just about building prosthetic hands; they were an opportunity for personal growth, teamwork, and understanding the profound impact of our actions.

Statewide Oil’s training sessions were expertly conducted by HR Elements Pty Ltd, providing participants with a platform to learn and grow. During these sessions, our team members learned about the complexities of prosthetic design and construction while also gaining insights into the stories of those who would benefit from the prosthetics.

The Helping Hands program has also inspired us with meaningful insights:

  • Better awareness leads to better conversations, resulting in better outcomes.
  • Culture isn’t built overnight; it’s built through consistent and intentional actions. When we feel safe and connected, our teams thrive.
  • Become someone others can count on.

The stories shared during the training sessions serve as powerful reminders of the impact one can have through simple acts of kindness and collaboration. By participating in this initiative, we built more than prosthetic hands – we built hope for those who need it the most.
